By downloading, installing, or using CareShield (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These terms apply to all users of CareShield, including those using Shield Mode (the parent/recipient experience) and Guardian Mode (the caregiver experience).
CareShield is a medication scheduling and reminder application designed to help family caregivers and their loved ones maintain consistent medication routines. The App provides:
CareShield is a scheduling tool only. It is your responsibility — and the responsibility of the user's healthcare providers — to ensure the correct medications, dosages, and timing are entered into the App. CareShield does not verify, validate, or review any medication information you enter.
In a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency services immediately. Do not rely on CareShield for emergency medical situations.
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use Guardian Mode. Shield Mode may be used by individuals of any age under the supervision of an adult caregiver.
By using the App, you represent that you have the legal authority to agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and any recipient you add to your Guardian dashboard.
You are responsible for:
CareShield offers a free tier and a paid "Family" subscription. Subscriptions are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system and are governed by Apple's terms and conditions.
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy.
The free tier — including unlimited medications in Shield Mode — will remain free permanently. We will not remove free tier functionality from existing free users without at least 90 days' notice.
The CareShield app, including its design, code, branding, and content, is owned by AI App Factory and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AI App Factory shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.
CareShield is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that alarms will fire in all circumstances (e.g., device in Do Not Disturb mode, low battery, no internet connection).
You are responsible for ensuring your device settings allow CareShield to deliver notifications reliably.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to CareShield if you violate these terms. You may stop using the App at any time. Upon termination, your license to use the App ends.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the App. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
