Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

CareShield is a family caregiver medication scheduling application developed by AI App Factory. Our contact email is hello@careshield.aiappnation.com.

2. What Data We Collect

CareShield collects the minimum data necessary to provide the service. Here is exactly what we collect and why:

On-device only (never leaves your device):

• Medication names and schedules you enter into the app
• Alarm settings and waking window configuration
• Adherence log (taken / missed confirmations)

Account data (only if you create a Guardian account):

• Email address — used for account authentication only
• Adherence status for your linked recipients (confirmed or missed — not dosage or clinical data)
• Push notification tokens — used to send you missed dose alerts

We never collect:

• Dosage amounts or strengths
• Medical conditions or diagnoses
• HealthKit or Apple Health data
• Location data
• Device contacts
• Any data about your parent if they use Shield Mode without an account

3. How We Use Your Data

Data we collect is used solely to provide the CareShield service:

• Sending you missed dose alerts via push notification
• Syncing adherence status between a parent's Shield Mode and your Guardian dashboard
• Account authentication and session management

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except as required to operate the service (e.g., push notification infrastructure).

4. Data Storage and Security

Medication schedules and adherence logs are stored locally on the device using iOS's secure local storage (SwiftData). If you use Guardian Mode with cloud sync enabled, adherence status is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored on our servers located in the European Union.

We use industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We do not retain data after account deletion.

5. HealthKit

CareShield does not integrate with Apple HealthKit. We deliberately chose not to request HealthKit access. Your Apple Health data is never accessed, read, or written by CareShield.

6. Children's Privacy

CareShield is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format

To exercise these rights, email us at hello@careshield.aiappnation.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Data Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the CareShield app under Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes all server-side data associated with your account within 48 hours. On-device data is deleted when you uninstall the app.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you via the app and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
